Did you know that you can find your next job if you’re connected? As the recession goes on and on, it is time for you to take advantage of social network sites, as another way to find your new job. Here in Canada I’ve seen a lot of people using those network sites. No, I am not talking about Facebook. Ok, I know that Facebook is also a way to stay connected but it is not the kind of network site that you find your new job.
I mean, you can also try that, but chances are very low. Instead of Facebook, I’ve listed two websites that you should consider visiting and creating your profile:
- LinkedIn: This is the first option that you should consider! Linkedin is being used a lot for HR people, in addition to people from your company as well. Your friend can introduce you to his boss. Or, you can search for people from your company and then, have a cofee or even make a call. Just introduce yourself and the doors are open. Be careful, use up to date information and don’t lie. Take a tour around the website, learn how to use and good luck
- Twitter: This sounds crazy, but I’ve been following some people that share with us job board posts. So, why don’t you create a Twitter account and then, look for what’s available. Usually, if you’re following someone, chances are this person will follow you, too. Keep this in mind: Twitter will grow a lot during 2009 – I am sure about this. If you’d like, you can also follow me on Twitter. The good thing about twitter is that you have to keep your message short: every time you send a message you have to use max 140 characters.
I hope you can take advantage of the websites mentioned above. Do you have another one? Please share with us!
