Once you’re living in Canada of course you need to find a job - hopefully in your field. I remember the first time I went to interview and the person asked me how much I’d like to receive by hour. I said, I don’t know. Can you believe this? This is totally wrong from my side and please don’t do the same.
I was lucky enough to find a nice person (my ex-boss), that seeing me as an immigrant without any experience in Canada, gave me the opportunity to search for jobs in my field and then tell him what I expect to receive.
And this is important because once you find a job in Canada and start to receive your salary, if you’d like to work on this company for a long period of time you will receive increases in your salary annually based on the inflation (as you may know the inflation in Canada is very low). That’s why you should know what is the wage in your region and in your field.

You can find information such as the low wage, the average wage and the high wage. Doing this you’re not alone and of course you can negotiate with your company. Normally you will see the results as an annual salary (before taxes).
